Primetime (Private) Bio

Picture
Hailing from the hard hittin' New Britain CT Derrick "Primetime" McGill has emerged as hip hop's next lyrical wordsmith. Combining witty wordplay with an overly aggressive delivery and thunderous voice commands attention from fans from the very first bar. The 26 -year-old emcee credits Biggie, Nas, Eminem, Slaughterhouse, The Lox, Fabolous & Young Jeezy as supreme influences for his beastly cadence.
In the summer of 2009, through family ties, Primetime aligned himself with the well known Connecticut based ANYTIME VOLCHAZ (A.T.V) 100MAD movement. With a brother, (Rah Bigalow) and an older cousin(MakeEmPay) as founding members of ATV the association seemed inevitable. The alignment with ATV birthed street anthems such as "I Don't Give AFuck" with MakeEmPay and "Shine" with MakeEmPay & Rah Bigalow. The songs have created a buzz for Prime in the streets as well as on the internet.
Currently working on his debut mixtape entitled “Primetime MixtapeVolume One Just The Beginning, “Prime aims to change the climate of hip hop with the 20 track masterpiece. With the diminishing talent in hip hop today, Prime's aim with Volume One is to save rap culture from gimmicks, lack of versatility, lyricism and creativity. Standout tracks such as "You Better Believe It", "The Pain I Feel" and "Don't Go" easily display his skill and convincing prove that Prime is destined for stardom.
