Nino Blaq is a singer/songwriter from New Britain, CT. Shortly after graduating from college, Nino’s life in music began to form. He decided in 1998 to take his craft more seriously. He learned that this is a business first, so he started to learn the business side of the music world  from different angles to ensure that ALL aspects of his career would be covered. He formerly worked as a road manager for GoodFellaz Ent. Recording Artist: Sonny Chulo from Orlando, FL. He worked in the mix tape circuit for three years, where he met many of the top DJs in the mix tape game.He worked with LexMob Ent. in New York City, under the direction of close friend and Music Mentor: Ty Bless. Nino’s musical influences are : Stevie Wonder, Teddy Pendergrass, Donny Hathaway, Michael Jackson, Prince, as well as present day Artists like, Neyo, Trey Songz, Usher, Donell Jones, Anthony Hamilton, Tyrese, Mary J Blige, and Musiq SoulChild.
    A songwriter of instinct, Nino has a flair for writing catchy hooks that leave the listener moved by the raw emotion in them. Although his roots are firmly placed in mainstream Hip-Hop/R&B/Gospel/Reggae, he draws inspiration from many different lyrical and musical influences. "My style is different” he explains, “ I can write an old school ballad today that your grandmother and little daughter could sing along too, and the next a melody will come out of me that is strictly for the grown and sexy, and I'll be wondering, Where did that come from?" Music is a passion for Nino, He started singing at the tender age of eight. "I used to sit in my bedroom and sing any and all songs that came on the radio, word for word and note for note. I actually trained myself to sing, I do have a vocal coach too.”
   Singing was a way for him to get away from the problems in his life. He sang in school and church choirs as a youth. Sports were a route that he thought was his destiny, but he soon found out after a minor injury that that dream was short lived. While in college, he entered a college talent show and the reception he and his friends received made him decide to make music his life dream.
     For the next several years however, life took him through many avenues, some made him question his dream, but the music, truth be told, was never far from his mind and heart. "I always knew it was a matter of time until the God would instill this dream permanently in my heart. Connecting with ATV is cool. I like their work ethic. This is what we do in New Britain, CT.  Nino is ready to bring CT R&B to the forefront of The New England music Scene. Based on the reception of his latest showcases, the future looks promising.
